D.E Shaw is apparently a very secretive company and it's hard to find information on it. However the best we have been able to penetrate them is the initial resume screen. They send back a form asking various information about education, scholarships won, patents etc. We have seen some very very bright candidates not hearing from recruiters at D.E. Shaw after submitting their forms. Possibly the standards of hiring at D.E. Shaw are tougher than even Google. To give you an idea we are uploading the usual form that they send in to candidates below:
